House of Grace Maternity Home
When reports of pregnant minors, some as young as 10-years-old, began surfacing in our community, it became increasingly evident to the Pregnancy Resource Center that their services were vital. While there were resources for adult women to better handle pregnancy, support for pregnant minor girls was very limited. That changed in 2008 with the opening of the House of Grace Maternity Home. As part of the Pregnancy Resource Center, the House of Grace provides a loving and stable home environment to help young girls in our region through such a difficult time.
The opportunity to create a home for pregnant girls who were not of legal age came with the 2004 death of Archie Lynn Harnage, a pastor from Land O’Lakes, Florida. The Pastor desired to bequeath money to a ministry for the start of a pregnancy center or a maternity home. The House of Grace Maternity Home was chosen as the sole recipient of this behest. The House of Grace, operating under the umbrella of the Pregnancy Resource Center, began operations in 2008, offering housing and resources to pregnant minor girls and can house up to 6 girls.
House parents, Alan and Sissy Ard, along with house assistants provide a nurturing environment for these young girls.
